Procter & Gamble (P&G) has completed its €3.4 billion acquisition of Merck’s Consumer Health business.
Originally announced in April, the deal improves P&G’s over the counter geographic scale as well as brand portfolio and category footprint in the majority of the world’s top OTC markets.
With the closing of the deal, Uta Kemmerich-Keil, President and CEO of the Consumer Health business, will join P&G as leader of the Personal Health International.
Personal Health International is an organisation encompassing the newly combined consumer (or OTC) health care businesses in Europe, Latin America, and Asia/IMEA.
“Today marks the beginning of an exciting new era for P&G Personal Health Care, as we now move forward to realize the great potential of our combined businesses,” said Tom Finn, President, P&G Global Personal Health Care.”
